Globalization is a threat to local cultures. To what extent you agree or disagree with this statement?

Migration of people leads to the mixing of various cultures around the globe. Many people believe that globalization ultimately causes local cultures to disappear. This essay explains how globalization will endanger the local cultures.

Globalization adversely affects resident people's culture because it involves the entry of migrant population in a society. This migrant people influence their culture and may not respect the local cultures. For example, local rituals may not be practiced by the migrant person since they do not share the common belief system. Thus, local cultures may not be carried over to the migrant population.

Globalization reduces the survival chance of local cultures because global trends are copied and reproduced by the local individuals. Trending habits including dressing, eating will influence the people and lead them to forget their cultural practices over a while. Wearing jeans, for instance, became a common practice in India after independence due to globalization. Hence now people sidelined the local dressing style.

This essay discussed how globalization impacts the local cultures. In my opinion, globalization has adversely affected the practicing of local cultural habits.
