Most alcoholics purchase liquor legally. According to your point of view, should stores in general be legally allowed to sell liquor to alcoholics?

Alcohol is a widely used addictive substance in the world and it is comparatively less dangerous than other addictive drugs. Majority of people purchase alcohol from different kinds of facilities in the society. This essay will discuss why general stores must be allowed to sell liquor to their customers.

Alcoholics look similar to non-alcoholics who enjoy drinking liquor only during special occasions. Store-keepers cannot distinguish an alcoholic from a person who drinks only for leisure. For example, a person who buys a box full of alcoholic drinks cannot be labelled as an alcoholic in general. There should not be any discrimination between the alcoholics and non-alcoholics while selling the liquor in shops.

Stores must be legally allowed to sell alcoholic drinks along with other beverages because the easy availability of liquor can adversely affect the illegal business of dangerous drug dealers. If alcohol is available within the reach of every person, it is less likely that the person goes in search of any illegal addictive drugs. Beer, for instance, if made illegal to sell in the stores will attract the drug peddlers to enter society. Hence, all stores must be legally allowed to dispense liquor.

This essay discussed why it is important to legally allow the sales of alcoholic drinks to alcoholics in general stores because it is less dangerous and prevents drug peddlers from entering society. In my opinion, alcoholic drinks must be allowed to sell in local stores.
