Some people say International sports events help in world peace. Do you agree or disagree?

The role of international sports competitions in creating peace and harmony among the countries is a frequently debated topic.

Personally, I agree with the idea that peace in the world can be restored by sports events.

Obviously, on one side, it is evident that organising a sports event between different countries needs some level of mutual understanding between those countries. The main reason for this thought is that there must be a common understanding and commitment between the nations to participate in international events, as well as organise it in their country without any restrictions. It is also possible to say that international sports competitions bring together people living in geographical neighbouring countries. For example, during the Asian Games competition, the people in Asia join together peacefully to participate in sports events.

Next, looking at another major fact, it is clear that sports events promote communication between the leaders of different nations because communication is essential to organise an international sporting event. Moreover, it helps to strengthen the business trading and tourism industry in the world. For illustration, after the recent Olympic Games, the tourism industry in Brazil has been improved.

Furthermore, it is a known fact that the small misunderstanding and problems between the countries can be resolved when the countries join together to organise sports events. It is because there are a huge number of Die Hard fans of sports who constantly put pressure on the government to resolve the issues between the countries through a healthy negotiation process. It is also possible to say that sports can unite the people of different countries since they share a common interest in sports.

As we have seen, it is clear that organising sports competitions on an international level can enhance peaceful conditions in the world. So I agree with the given notion, and in my opinion, more number of sports competitions must be held more frequently between the nations to create a peaceful world.
