Some people say that teaching children at home is the best way to make them educated. But others say that school is the best place to educate children. Discuss both views and write reasons for your answer with relevant examples and state your opinion.

The question of whether the home is the ideal place to impart education for children over school is a topic of many heated debates these days. I strongly believe that, although parents hold the responsibility
to educate the children at home, schools are a more appropriate place for educating children.

Obviously, on one side, it is evident that children are better taught in schools. The main reason for this thought is, schools are officially organised to enhance the teaching-learning experience and to educate young children. It is also possible to say that, schools provide facilities to teach a subject based on the universal prescribed requirements, and thus it enhances the overall learning experiences of the children. To cite an example, science laboratories in schools help pupils to learn scientific experiments systematically, and it promotes the learning process.

Next, looking at another major fact, it is clear that teachers are the best people to teach children because the professional skills of teachers enable them to transmit their knowledge easily and understandably to the students. Moreover, mastery over the subject matter makes a teacher a better option for educating the children than parents with limited skills and unreliable knowledge. For instance, teachers teach the subject in which they have thorough knowledge about the topic whereas a parent may not necessarily be knowledgeable in every particular aspect of a subject. This makes parents an unreliable option for educating children.

On the other hand, it is possible to make the opposing case.  Essential values for life can be better taught at home than in a school environment. People have this opinion because parents teach moral values and good disciplines to their children to make ideal citizens in the future. A second view is that the behaviour of children is influenced by their parents and parents can mould good behaviour in children through love and affection.

As we have seen, it is difficult to conclude any of the above views. However, I firmly believe that even though the parents can teach children at home, schools are the perfect option for educating young children.
