Some believe that the knowledge acquired from experience is better than theoretical knowledge. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

People acquire knowledge through both theory and practical studies. While some people think that knowledge gained from experience is supreme than the knowledge gained through theory, others strongly oppose this notion.

This essay will discuss why the knowledge attained through experience is much better than the knowledge learned through the bookish study.

The practical experience learnt by a person remains in his memory for a longer duration than the theoretical knowledge because the physical experience remains laster in our brain than the imaginary lessons. While learning a skill through practical experiment or assignment, a student is physically involved in that process and remembers it better. Theoretical knowledge, on the other hand, remains in our brain for a shorter duration and then vanishes. The theoretical knowledge needs repeated study to memorize it for a longer duration.

Practical experience learnt by students helps them in utilizing those practical skills in their real-life events. This real-life practical application of knowledge helps the individual to remember and use those skills throughout their life. For example, sewing skills learnt during school days can be used anytime later in one's life, whereas the theoretical knowledge like the functions of trigonometry such as sin theta, cos theta are barely used in real-life and people forget it within a span of few months. Practical skills are, thus, long-lasting and have better applicability on life experiences.

To conclude, practical lessons have a greater influence on life than theoretical teachings. Hence, I strongly believe that practical experiences are better than theoretical knowledge.
